Nutritionist for PCOS in Lisbon and online

PCOS isn't one condition with one diet. For some women insulin is the main driver; for others it's inflammation or stress. Finding yours decides where we start.

Does this sound like you?

If several of these are familiar, you're in the right place.

Irregular or absent periods

Acne along the jaw

Excess hair growth or hair thinning

Energy crashes and sugar cravings

Weight around the middle

Difficulty getting pregnant

Lean, but still told you have PCOS

What drives PCOS

Most women are a mix of two patterns. These aren't official diagnostic types, but they show where to look first.

Insulin

High insulin pushes the ovaries to make more testosterone. Crashes, cravings and weight around the middle point here.

Inflammation

Cystic acne, joint aches, bloating and fatigue suggest inflammation is the main driver.

Stress

Some women have PCOS driven by the stress response, often with normal weight and insulin.

The gut

The microbiome affects insulin, inflammation and how hormones are cleared.

How I find the cause

Every assessment is personal. I start with your story and the results you already have, and only add what will change the plan.

Your full story

Symptoms, history, medication and everything you've already tried.

Your existing results

I go through any recent results you bring, in detail.

Testing only when it changes the plan

No standard package. If more information is needed, I'll explain why.

Alongside your doctor

Medical causes are ruled out first, with your doctor when needed.

How we work

Over four months, with a consultation roughly every month and the plan adjusted as you improve.

1

Find your pattern

Insulin, inflammation, stress, or a mix.

2

Balance blood sugar

Meals built to keep insulin steady.

3

Lower inflammation

Food quality, gut health and targeted nutrients.

4

Support stress and sleep

Especially when stress is a driver.

5

Retest and refine

Check what's changed and adjust.

Two ways to start

Most people start with a first consultation. If you already know you want the full programme, you can book it directly.

What patients say

Frequently asked questions

When to see your doctor first

  • Rapid new hair growth or a deepening voice: see a doctor promptly

  • No periods for three months or more: other causes need ruling out

  • Planning a pregnancy: involve your gynaecologist early

  • Symptoms of diabetes, such as intense thirst or frequent urination

Ruling out medical causes always comes first. I work alongside your doctor, not instead of them.
