Nutritionist for thyroid and Hashimoto's in Lisbon and online

Tired, cold, losing hair, gaining weight, and told your TSH is normal? Or diagnosed with Hashimoto's and still not feeling right on medication? Thyroid health depends on more than one number.

Does this sound like you?

If several of these are familiar, you're in the right place.

Fatigue that sleep doesn't fix

Always feeling cold

Hair thinning

Weight gain

Constipation

Brain fog

Low mood

Dry skin

Still tired on levothyroxine

Why a normal TSH isn't the whole story

A standard result shows how hard the brain is pushing the thyroid. It doesn't show how well your body uses thyroid hormone.

Conversion

T4 has to be converted into active T3. Stress, low nutrients and inflammation slow this down.

Autoimmunity

In Hashimoto's, the immune system can affect the thyroid for years before standard results change.

The gut

A leaky gut and dysbiosis are linked to thyroid autoimmunity.

Stress and cortisol

High cortisol slows the conversion to active thyroid hormone.

Nutrients

Selenium, iodine, iron, zinc and vitamin D all affect thyroid function.

How I find the cause

Every assessment is personal. I start with your story and the results you already have, and only add what will change the plan.

Your full story

Symptoms, history, medication and everything you've already tried.

Your existing results

I go through any recent results you bring, in detail.

Testing only when it changes the plan

No standard package. If more information is needed, I'll explain why.

Alongside your doctor

Medical causes are ruled out first, with your doctor when needed.

How we work

Over four months, with a consultation roughly every month and the plan adjusted as you improve.
